History of Rotary: Carol Swarzer spoke this evening on the reasons Rotary grew so rapidly from the first club being formed in Chicago in 1905. In the span of five years a further 15 clubs had organized and from its humble beginnings, Rotary became a national organization. She also reminisced about her husband Perry's family becoming involved in the Rotary organization. Perry's father, who owned a butchers shop, became a Rotarian in Syracuse and enjoyed many social activities and trips with his club.
Raffle: Yours truly held the winning ticket and although the joker remained elusive I left this evening $9.00 richer.
